Are you feeling the transition? To me, this time of year feels so sacred, yet uneasy at the same time. It’s time to anchor down and get organized. I love the ease and flow of summer, but I’m ready to get some solid routines back into place. Are you feeling the same?

If you have kids, you’re probably feeling some anxiety about the whole back to school thing – the emotions, the responsibility, the lunches..I feel you.

Today, I want to share a few of my resources and tools with you that I use with our family stay on track and organized.

.

1. Check your vitamins and supplements. Are you all set for the fall season? Immune boosting and stress management is where it’s at. Try taking a preventative approach to make life easier. In our home, we have:

  • Vitamin D3
  • Omega 3 Fatty Acids
  • Multi Vitamins
  • Immune support – probiotics, Immune Depth by Harmonic Arts, Medicinal Mushrooms and Elderberry syrup
  • Stress support – Schisandra berry powder, magnesium bisglycinate, Methylated B Complex

.

2. Organize your closets – put away the summer clothes, donate anything you won’t ware or doesn’t fit the kids anymore, and bring out the cozy fall outfits! Get your kids to organize their outfits for less stressful mornings. This helps to eliminate decision fatigue. That’s a real thing.

.

3. Grab your meal planner and favourite recipes. Have the kids write down their favourite snacks and lunches, and take some time to plan out each week on Sundays so you don’t feel stressed about it. Action alleviated anxiety!

4. Need some help with meal planning? I’ve created a free meal plan sample for you with delicious recipes that take under 30 minutes to prepare, is low allergen, and helps you eat more meals at home. I even included a shopping list and prep guide for you to save you time & money! Trust me, it’s not as scary and time consuming as you might think. If I can do it, so can you:) Download the meal plan here.

.

5. Prep your kitchen for success. Get rid of any flimsy plastic storage containers, which can leach hormone like chemicals, and stock up on healthy alternatives. My go to’s are:

  • Mason jars – for single serving soups and homemade salad dressings from Canadian Tire.
  • Wean Green Glass containers – these are my absolute fave. (you can check out the collection here)
  • Stainless Steel Bento Boxes – I’ve been using these for my kids for years and they last forever!
  • Klean Kanteen & Life Factory Water Bottles

.

6. Create a grounding & stress relieving ritual for yourself. As the busy season hits us, we need a solid stress management ritual in place. This can come in the form of deep breathing, simple guided meditation, and introducing pure essential oils into your life. I do my intention setting and meditation with oils in the morning. My favourite oils for stress relief and feeling grounded are:

  • Ylang Ylang (also has uplifting qualities)
  • Rosemary (the oil of transition, grounding, and memory boosting)
  • Lavender (time tested anxiety relief)
  • Balance blend (calming, helpful for focus)

If you’d like to learn more about how to use essential oils as part of your natural health routine, send me a message here.
